Figured i’d start off my year-end lists with a handful of records that I enjoyed but sadly missed the cut:
Ani DiFranco – Red Letter Year
No Age – Nouns
Calexico – Carried To Dust
David Byrne and Brian Eno – Everything That Happens Will Happen Today
Centro-Matic/South San Gabriel – Dual Hawks
The Whigs – Mission Contro
Broken Social Scene Presents Brendan Canning – Something For All Of Us
Cloud Cult – Tea-Partying Through Tornadoesl
Steven Malkmus – Real Emotional Trash
The Hold Steady – Stay Positive
Ida Maria – Fortress Round My Heart
Cut Copy – In Ghost Colours
Ray LaMontagne – Gossip in the Grain
Beach House – Devotion
Tokyo Police Club – Elephant Shell
Crooked Fingers – Forfeit/Fortune
Margot and the Nuclear So & So’s – Not Animal
Kelley Stoltz – Circular Sounds
Black Mountain – In The Future
Abe Vigoda – Skeleton
Cheap Time – Cheap Time
My Morning Jacket – Evil Urges
Sloan – Parallel Play
Adele – 19
The Envy Corps – Dwell
MGMT – Oracular Spectacular
Sons & Daughters – This Gift
Hold Steady's record should definitely be in the top ten. Check out the videos on their Evri profile page, they should at least win for best live band – http://www.evri.com/organization/the-hold-steady-…
sorry to disappoint ya Chris, but it's not… in fact these are the records that didn't make my top 50…
i dig THS quite a bit, but it's easily my least favorite album of theirs, bar none. i only love 2-3 songs on it tops, and there's 2 songs on the album that are their worst songs to date.
Ha dude you totally have a typo in there. It says the Hold Steady didn't make the cut.
lol.
sorry mang… that record just did not really interest me. their last First Ave show also kind of bored me… maybe i'm just kinda growing tired of them? i dunno. i do know plenty of THS fans that agree this is their weakest to date however, so maybe it's not just me.
This must be a mistake, The Hold Steady not in the top 20? How dare you
There are actually a few here that will most likely be on my top 15, but what fun would it be if everyone had the same list.
