Were you as disappointed by SVIIB show as I was? I felt as though they could have just put the album on speakers and I wouldn't have noticed the difference. Great album, maybe just not a live band.

Fujiya & Miyagi was a dance party. They were really fun.

i only sort of dig the record to be perfectly honest, so i wasn't THAT let down, but i wasn't impressed by their live show whatsoever.

but yeah, their set was just all over the place for me. the beats sounded really cheesy/lame live, and Ben Curtis is way way underutilized in the band live, to the point of it being almost silly for him to even be on stage imo. His guitar playing was barely audible and added very little. the slower songs were actually the more enjoyable ones for me.

but yes, F&M were as fun as always!

I was thinking the exact same thing about Ben during the show. Then again, we were in the back and nothing really sounded very good back there. Also the lack of a real drummer really kills much of the live experience.

What a weird show. I thought SVIIB sounded great, but the mix was really low. Not often do I leave first ave/7th st wishing it would have been lounder. People talking obnoxiously, too.
