City On The Make 'Keep This On Fire' @ The Bedlam Theatre

Picture 2

City On The Make, seem to have been graced with a stroke of luck. They were originally slated to host their CD Release show for ‘Keep This On Fire’ at the tempoarily defunct 400 Bar. After some juggling, the Bedlam graciously agreed to help the dudes out.

The Bedlam is a great spot, right off the light rail station of The Greenway.  Their roof patio is a highlight..

Just a quick jump from anywhere really, but it’s closest neighbors are Triple Rock & Palmer’s..

Digitata (CD Release) @ First Amendment Arts

Digitata have been on hiatus for awhile now. They re-united to record an album. Here is note about their first and possibly last show in a long time..

We are releasing it at an art show we are throwing for some friends at First Amendment Arts. the show is called “Sawdust City”. These are the artists:

Eric Lee – incredibly detailed “realist” paintings of decaying industrial settings. Uses gunpowder too. some of them are HUGE.
David Jensen – abstract paintings made with a huge variety of materials, i believe mostly from the construction world.
Chance Orth – wood-framed photography and strange small sculpture.

James Buckley Trio (CD Release) @ The Dakota

jamesbuckleycover

The James Buckley Trio have been hard at work all winter long writing new songs as a follow up to their first release, Stitches.

James Buckley and his talented trio comprised of JT Bates on drums and Bryan Nichols on piano are set to release another great record titled Knowing and Losing. They will be celebrating the new album with a party at the Dakota Jazz Club on Thursday, May 14th at 7 p.m.

The trio’s last record, Stiches, won over some serious critics that helped put them in the field of heavy hitters in the jazz world. With each member of the group bringing their own individual street cred to the table, you can’t help but take notice of this impressively cohesive ensemble.

Bob Dylan / Willie Nelson / John Mellencamp Summer Tour Dates

from bobdylan.com:

Dear Friends,

Bob Dylan has just announced an ambitious line-up for this year’s summer concert tour. Along with fellow troubadour Willie Nelson, this summer The Bob Dylan Show will also feature John Mellencamp, marking just the second time in the past 24 years that these three performers have shared the concert stage.

bobdylan.com is happy to offer pre-sale tickets for all ballpark shows to its visitors, going on sale starting on Monday, April 27. At each venue, the gates will open 30 minutes early for holders of tickets purchased during the bobdylan.com pre-sale. For details, see the bobdylan.com Tour page.

Since first embarking on a tour of minor league baseball parks in 2004, over a half-million fans have come together to spend a night under the stars. With free admittance for children*, these tours draw a multi-generational fan base rarely seen on the concert circuit, causing one reporter to describe it as, “more like a backyard party than a rock concert.” The Boston Globe ranked the tour amongst “the most relaxed, enjoyable shows of the year. “You Can’t Beat Fun At The Old Ballpark,” came a headline from the Chicago Sun Times.

All concert tickets are priced at $67.50 and most shows are general admission, allowing fans to grab a seat in the stands or find a place to watch from the field. Tickets will go on sale throughout the month of May and will be available at the local ballpark ticket office and affiliated ticket outlets. There is no baseball game on the day of the show. *Children 14 and under get in free with each adult ticket holder.

Showtime is 5:30pm and gates open at 5:00. Gates will open at 4:30 for holders of bobdylan.com pre-sale tickets.
