Pictured below, these dudes will be on the whole Why? tour. Dates and Mp3′s below..

Dark Dark Dark is everyone’s favorite nomadic gypsy string group, often a trio and sometimes even more than the core of the group Marshall (Banjo & Piano) & Nona (Accordion & Piano.) They have been featured on Daytrotter twice now..

Andrew Broder 'I Must Fix All The Problems'

andrewbroder

Andrew Broder of Fog just self released his new album…

Here is a message from Andrew..

”Attached is a link to download a new solo album by Andrew Broder called “I Must Fix All the Problems”.

link

It is two pieces for improvised guitar, turntables and 4-track, the first side is called “I Must Fix” and the second side is called “All the Problems”.

This record is the first in what I hope will be an ongoing series of self-released solo material.

This is my first experiment with releasing music in this manner, so please let me know if you run into any problems.

When you download successfully, please feel free to share the music with anyone and everyone you like. I don’t give a shit.

Thanks

Danielson @ Triple Rock

riley-bilgo

Christian psychedelic music is almost comparable to a jewish pig farmer.  With members of the openers Cryptacize doubling as members of the band, Danielson handclapped and finger snapped their ways into everyone’s hearts.  Their catalog consisted of mostly songs from the recent CD of from the odds and odyssey collection Trying Hartz (First Fruits ’94-’04), so many of the songs were unfamiliar to those who just own Ships.  The unknown is what made it so great.  Every song from Jersey Loverboy to Did I step on your trumpet? filled me with what you humans call ecstasy.  It is hard to forget the heavily acoustic ditties could sound so cacophonous, but it suits those who are into a different sort concerted concert night.  Brother Danielson’s voice sounds the same on CD as it does live, but the many vocal harmonies are lost with only one female singer on stage.  Still, the only thing that gave me the blues is that I could not buy their shoes. -Riley Bilgo

Good Morning Gentlemen @ Bryant Lake Bowl

a special note from andrew broder:

Tonite! All right! 7 PM at the Bryant Lake Bowl.

The 4th installment of GMG… a series of plays by Mark Erickson, starring him, me, Kristen Kvalsten and Jeremy Ylvisaker… with special guests!

C’mon down and bring a friend for total entertainment experience.

awww yeah…. plays and shit….

Good Morning, Gentlemen is Mark Erickson, Andrew Broder, Kristen Kvalsten and Jeremy Ylvisaker (as DJ Crown Salesman), an actual experimental theater/language/sound club that is glad to meet you. What’s that? We’re fired? Who do you think you are? We do the firing around here. We fire you! You can’t fire us. We’re Good Morning, Gentlemen.
Good Morning, Gentlemen began making amusing radio dramas but have since left that genre behind for their scheduled showings at the BLB. Why? Because radio dramas only work on the radio. Have you ever been to a live radio show? BO-RING!
Amongst the four members of Good Morning, Gentlemen there are two college degrees, three mortgages on homes in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area and one child. If you know these people at all it’s probably because three of them have made respectable attempts at making a living playing music (the exception is Kristen who is tone deaf and wouldn’t know a prepared piano from a DAT tape). In the past twenty years Andrew, Jeremy and Mark have shared stages and studios with MF Doom, Cheap Trick, Deerhoof, The Little River Band, Andrew Bird, Ornette Coleman, Tom Herbers, The Ohio Players and Qbert. Jeremy once chatted up Monica Lewinsky backstage and even gave her a CD to share with her friends.

Coming back in September – every Sunday (7, 14, 21, 28) at 7pm.
