Hot Roxx Hexmas @ The Hexagon w/ Velvet Davenport, Dante & The Lobster, Invisible Boy, Secret Language

Wed 12/23 @ the Hex, 9:00, FREE

Hot Roxx Hexmas Hextravaganza!!

Featuring…
Velvet Davenport•Dante and the Lobster•Invisible Boy•Secret Language•DJs MacKu$, Jen, and Nick

Remember two years ago, the first time you heard Marc Bolan wishing you a super funk Christmas and a golden New Year? Or last year when you saw a giant Bumble dancing to the unnamed super group? If yes, then you already know what you’d be missing by not attending this year’s Hot Roxx Hexmas Hextravaganza… If no, then, do you really want to read a message next year that asks if you remember something even more ridiculously awesome and regretting that you missed it too? This year’s show features the triumphant return of Secret Language (Colin of Vampire Hands) to the MPLS stage; plus indelible holiday covers by Hot Roxx darling, Invisible Boy; and the electrifying sounds of local psych faves Dante and the Lobster and Velvet Davenport. Not to mention live DJS (MacKu$, Jen and Nick) and Mixologist Gaylord serving drinks (this is unprecedented) in the band room. This year’s show is bigger than all of us. Don’t miss out.

Haunted House 'Guess Who's Not Coming To Dinner' Album Release Shows

With “Guess Who’s Not Coming to Dinner,” Haunted House prove they aren’t just another Minneapolis All-Star jam band. They are a formidable rock and roll unit lead fearlessly by Mike Watton. Band members and collaborators include, yet are not limited to Jon Davis (Ghostband), Adam Patterson (whitesand/badlands), Cole Claerhout (Dante & The Lobster), Martin Dosh (Andrew Bird), and Freddy Votel. (Skoal Kodiak)

They are an unrivaled, rhythm-heavy rock orchestra. A piano-heavy Pixies or maximal Modest Mouse draw comparisons but don’t nearly describe the freak fluency they share..

Here are some details about the release shows from Mike..

Capgun Coup from Omaha has been added to the October 30th Hexagon bill. Knife World was so stunned by the invite they were rendered speechless. So the line-up is, in no particular order since I’m not sure how that’s going to shake out, but this is my best guess:

Vampire Hands
Haunted House
Capgun Coup
Mute Era

FREE – 21+

Full line-up for the Halloween, and I have no idea the order:

An Ali Farka tribute band
Tender Meat
Ratt Poison
Awesome Snakes
Japanther
Haunted House

$5 – ALL AGES
