Saturday, January 23, the party continues at the Cedar Cultural Center for a early, all ages event. This show has long been in the works and we are so excited to be bringing you these four bands. We’ve got a couple other things up our sleeve for this show as well including some special guests, additional activities and surprises, from our favorite Twin Cities proprietors. Tickets go on sale this Friday November 20th at the Cedar Cultural Center and participating outlets.

Dave Nada may not make it in time to play in Loring. That’s why we’ve set up a free after party at Kitty Cat Klub that he will be playing, along with some of the others from early in the day. That will start around 10pm.

Advance tickets are sold out, but there will be a bunch left @ the door tomorrow night.. SKOAL KODIAK (1:15AM) 8.20.08 Update This update is long overdue. However, with all the happenigs of the past and coming months I’ll keep things brief. This past Spring we celebrated our 9 year anniversary with 7 shows and 24 bands from the label’s history. Thanks to all the bands, venues, poster designers and everyone who was able to travel long and short distances to be with us to mark the occasion. In conjunction with our 9 year celebration we recently released CDs by Portland artists Mirah and Yellow Swans. Both have been getting great press and radio attention. The Old Days Feeling received a 7.5 on Pitchfork and has been in CMJ’s Top 30 for the past month. Yellow Swans Deterioration has hit #1 on several college station around the country and received some great writeups from zines like dusted, foxy digitalis and tinymixtapes. Vampire Hands, STNNNG, His Mischief and Mirah all have extensive tours planned this Fall. We encourage everyone to come out and support them in your town. You can get all the latest tour info on the shows section of the website and as always on the band’s myspace pages. We’ll have more info in the coming weeks about upcoming releases and happenings for the rest of 2008 and 2009. Thanks Pete & Tom, but not Justin! Pull out your tubas, decorate your bicycles, dust off your art car, build a float, break out your flags and twirling batons, and take to the streets in celebration of your ideas of liberty and freedom of expression.” On Sunday, August 31 starting at 1pm there will be a parade down Nicollet Mall to Loring Park followed by bands and fun for everyone.
